I have searched everywhere for an answer that makes sense and have had no luck. Typically I can download a program and I can locate the file it is stored in somewhere on my comp with a basic search. I cannot find Word Press anywhere much less any sort of file called wp-content/word press themes. I tried an FTP and that did not work, CoreFTP would not transfer any files at all from the one and only folder I can find of my theme (max-magazine). I am hosted on GoDaddy so why would I need some other external file organizer. When I created a child of my theme (using a plugin) the creation went fine except I cannot locate the folder containing any of it in order to add new code files to it. Why is this such a confusing process for an action that is easily performed in other applications. I thought WP was supposed to be easy to use.

Where in cyber space is this folder located at?

On the remote server that is hosting your WordPress site.
