   I set up my domain with hostgator, which allowed me to install wordpress through the hostgator interface rather than downloading WP manually. I chose to use that option, and wordpress installed.

   After looking around, I see that people talk about the wp-config.php file and how you have to configure it to get the site to run. But, I never did that and my WP site runs. Also, I've got a plugin that requires me to edit the wp-config.php file, but I'm not even sure if it's on my computer.

   So, is it possible that I don't have the config.php on my computer hard drive? If so, where do I find it to make edits to it?

   You need to look on your remote server - not on your local computer.

   Aha, thanks for the answer. Pardon the noobishness, but does that mean it's being held by hostgator?

   Yes, but you can access it since it's on your account.
