I just downloaded 2.9.2 and the config sample has no php closing tag at the end. NOT the fault of my program it just is not there.

How could people screw up so badly? Evidently there's nowhere to tell the person who uploaded it to the servers for download.

And I was reading on the forums here, and they say all files should not necessarily have a ?> to close them but the specifics I found on fixing the admin panel displaying all gobbledy-gook text after install is to make sure that the start and end tags are added.

Well I'm very surprised there is NOT an end tag by default if the help documents are saying there needs to be one. Who the heck is making this program...kids?

The file in question was deliberately left without a closing tag.

It's not there on purpose. It's no accident.
