• Hi there,

I have installed the wp-cache script and followed the instructions to the letter but nothing writes to my folder cache in wp-content.

When I diretly enter the URL to wp-cache.php I get this error:

‘Your cache directory (ABSPATHwp-content/cache) needs to be writable for this plugin to work. Double-check it.’

The cache folder is chmod to 755 and the wp-content is 755 also. I read some other articles on this suggestion chmod to 766/666 but that does not work.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

  • I have mine set to 775, so try that.

Thanks for that but still get the same problem.

I just seem to be having a heap of problems with 1.5 right now 🙁

Maybe I should do a fresh install.

    Thanks

Some errors I have been getting are:

Warning: semop() failed acquiring SYSVSEM_SETVAL for key 0x152b: Permission denied in /www/c/camereyecom/htdocs/journal/wp-content/advanced-cache.php on line 161

Warning: semget() failed for key 0x152b: Permission denied in /www/c/camereyecom/htdocs/journal/wp-content/advanced-cache.php on line 161

and I too tried changing the permissions on my wp-content and cache folder. The funny thing is that it actually seemed to run faster when i installed it (since my site seems to have a problem with hanging), but nothing was saved in the cache, and i got those warning messages.

I’m not stupid, but I was hoping for a little more details on permissions of the folders in the instructions (ex: should we also change permissions on the main wordpress folder itself?), since that’s the problem both you and I seem to be having.

Sorry to bring this back but I am still not able to get ti to work.

What permissions should wp-content actually be? I have tried many variations but nothing seems to work for me. Is there anyone out there that has this working? Would they be kind enough to give me their settings?

    Many thanks
    Karl
