• I just activated wp-cache & the first thing I noticed was that after editing a previously published post, I could not see the changes no matter how many times or ways I tried to clear the cache. Is there some trick to doing this? Or is this a problem of WP-Cache? I even tried opening the post in an entirely new tab but I still couldn’t see the editing changes.

In the meantime, I’ve deactivated the plugin till I can figure out what’s up w. it.

Did you completely clear your browser’s cache? Have you looked at the post in another browser? What version of WordPress are you running?

I’m running FF 1.5 & WP 1.5.3. I just checked the edited post in IE & the editing changes DO display properly there.

To clear my cache I tried Shift+Reload, Ctrl+Reload. Not sure those are the proper command keys but they’ve always worked in other situations in which I needed to clear the cache.

To force a clear reload in Firefox, hit F5.

Oh, thanks. Sorry, but I didn’t know about F5. That cleared the cache fine. Guess I’ll just use that method whenever I edit posts in future in order to see the results.

Sorry, but I have to take back what I wrote in the above msg. I just edited a post, saved it, opened the post in blog display & hit F5. I could not see the editing change.

Is there some kind of delay built into WP Cache that doesn’t allow one to fully clear the cache for a certain period of time? That sounds odd, but I thought I’d ask.

THe reason I asked about this hunch is that when I did succeed in clearing the cache using F5 & seeing the editing change it’d been a certain amt. of time after making the change. But when I clear the cache & attempt to see the editing change right after making it, then I can’t seem to do so.

    Try this:

    1. Clear IE’s cache and quite IE.

    2. Use FF to edit one of your posts.

    3. Immediately check the post in IE.

If the post change is visible in IE, then you may have found a bug in Firefox (which is unlikely), or you aren’t hitting the right F5 key. If the post change is not visible in IE, then the problem is due to a delay in the WP-Cache plugin, and you should contact the plugin’s developer for more info.

I’m hearing Twilight Zone music…Now everything seems to be working AOK. Whenever I make an editing change I can see it display clearly in FF by using F5. Either I wasn’t hitting F5 properly before (an impossibility) or…I don’t know what.

Anyway, as of now it’s working. So I’m not going to complain. Thanks again for staying with me througout this strange episode. I’ll keep an eye on it in case it happens again.
