Is anybody familiar with WP Automatic Upgrade plugin from Keith Dsouza? I am trying to upgrade my WP 2.5.1 to 2.6.1. As a first step, I download my files as a zip folder, but I can't open it. Windows throws a box at me saying the files cannot be opened in order to protect my computer.
How do I open and verify the files before proceeding with the upgrade? If anything goes wrong, how would I restore the files? Thanks.

Hi, I don't personally use automatic upgrade, but if you are going to, make sure you have a backup of our current database.

Posted 3 years ago #Thanks for the tip, Mike. I used WPAU to go from WP 2.3 to 2.5.1 with no problems. But as I prepared to use it to go to 2.6.1 I noticed that the backup doesn't work. BTW, if there is a problem, how would you use your backups to restore your blog?
