    Hi,

My WP Options database have been emptied.

    and…

I have manually updated to the new WP 3.1.1.

When I attempted to enter admin, I got:
“One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired.”

    Then:
“To allow use of this page to automatically repair database problems, please add the following line to your wp-config.php file. Once this line is added to your config, reload this page.
    define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true);”

I did the config change, but reloading the webpage does nothing.

    Any idea?

Thanks. I did a database REPAIR in phpMyAdmin, but to not avail.

    Chris

  • Do you have a recent database backup?

    Esmi,

    Thanks for your presence.

Yes, I have just realized that DreamHost does daily database backup (in addition to my own backup). I will restore.

However, my accident shows that the WP automatic repair does not work as advertized, IMHO.

Thanks so much for your kindness.

    Ciao,

I think there are limits to any database repair operation if the database is badly trashed.
