Hi, all:
I've finally stumbled over to WordPress after trying several opensource CMS options out there - I've read that WP can actually be customized to work quite well in this way. However, I wanted some feedback about people's successes with getting it to work on a bilingual website, specifically with Hebrew/English.
I'm a freelance designer, and I have a potential client who's an Israeli living in the US - it would be a personal/sports website, but because half her audience would be from Israel, I'm thinking somewhere down the road she will want to be able to have the site in both languages (so that people could click a button to choose.
I was able to find a thread from a while back saying that WP 2.1 supports right-to-left text for Hebrew, but how would that work in the admin area? Can you really trust auto-translated content for posts, or do people usually hand-translate everything? And how would that work for the admin area? Without a second install of WP in Hebrew, would you have to write all the Hebrew posts first in English?
I'm sorry this is so long-winded. I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it because it's my first time trying to figure this out... I hope I'm not in over my head.
:) thanks in advance for your insights
