    Hi everyone,

my site is barbinirocco.eu and it's still under construction. In fact I'm still designing it as a platform to sell some services.

For this reason I'm designing my own theme, but I'd like to make some kind of frankenstein-site, I mean half wordpress, half not.

While I design my theme I'm working on a static offline page to create the layout, CSS, etc. But when I put it online I'll probably use a static menu bar to link both the WP-managed pages (mostly home) and the not-WP-managed pages. My question is:

can I generate dinamic pages that use the template's files without passing through wordpress?

This would be useful to have some nicer permalinks like barbinirocco.eu/en/services.php. In fact my blog root is barbinirocco.eu/en/, so I'd have the templates in barbinirocco.eu/en/wp-content/templates (which would contain the header, sidebar and footer), but I'd have other pages located in barbinirocco.eu/en/ and in barbinirocco.eu/en/e-shop.

    Is that possible?

I would say just about anything would be possible, however, no one knows better of what you are after, than you. I would say that simply knowing how to use WordPress, Templates and Template Tags would be a good start.

I am sure there are a number of articles, guides and tutorials on the web, but here are a few I would recommend.

Web Designer Wall: Complete WordPress Theme Guide
WordPress Codex: Creating a Static Front Page
WordPress Hacks: How To: Using WordPress as a Static Site

This should be a good start.

    Hope this helps!
