I have been trying to install WP on host gator (both through QuickInstll and Fantastico). The process went well, but when I follow the link mydomain.com/wp-admin the blog or its login page is nowhere to be seen. Instead it shows me the company website through whom I bought the domain (not hostgator) with the inforamtion that the domain is not available.
I tried refreshing, clearing Firefox cache and no change.
Am I missing something obvious? Any ideas?

I am having the same exact problem. I have Hostgator and bought the domain through Godaddy. All that comes up when I click the login/admin link is the GoDaddy screen. Any help would be appreciated!

@kami131313: Try renaming the index.html file in your root domain folder.

Run a WHOIS lookup on your domain and make sure the domain is pointed to your hosting company's Nameservers. If it isn't, contact your registrar and have them point the domain to the correct Nameservers. If you do not know the Nameservers, your hosting company can provide you with the Namservers to point to.

@kami131313 You can always log in at registrar and change name servers yourself, host gator would have that on welcome email they sent you.
