• Anyone know how to hack into wp-amazon so that you can add amazon content while making the new static pages in 1.5? I’d like to put together a reading list page and that would really help.

I can’t even get wp-amazon to work on my main page with 1.5, so I’m going to assume not 🙁

One idea, do your reading list as either a sidebar, or as a post-category and use individual posts per book.

I’ll have to look at the Pages stuff, and see if my CG-Amazon/CG-Inline stuff will work on a Page — if so, it’s a simple extra tag here and there in the body text of the page.

Gimme a bit to look into it…

Hmmm. wp-amazon isn’t working for me any more, either. Had it working with 1.5-gamma, but it’s failing with 1.5 Strayhorn. Pops up an empty window, which makes finding the cause difficult.

I see a couple of people have commented on Rich’s site[1], so I guess it’s just a matter of waiting for a fix…

[1] I tried to, but got an error message, so Rich probably has other priorities at the moment

FYI, I just tested with my work-in-progress 1.5 compatability for CG-PowerPack, and did prove that a CG-Inlined amazon item shows up as expected (like any other ‘article’ page you might see on my site with an amazon product floated within the text body…).

Should have it together in a few days.

There is an update for wp-amazon now available. Just given it a quick test, and yes, it does work with 1.5. Woo and indeed hoo :-).

No kidding, Ibessant! That is what I’ve been waiting for! Amazing how people develop a real fondness for certain plugins and can’t live without ’em!

what a brilliant plugin! will certainly make my life easier for reviews. I can only hope that there is a more general plugin which will search products on more than one site, but I guess dependent upon how the sites are coded would affect the ability of th eplugin.

    Still, great plugin. Thank you

I have what I realize is a pretty stupid question. I understand there is an update for the wp-amazon plugin. Mine no longer works under the new 1.5. However, when I go to the site linked in a previous post, I can’t seem to download it and copying it causes all sorts of problems. Where can I download it perhaps as a zip?

    Thanks,

Following on Samspade32’s question, do I need to do some kind of diff merge to patch the old version of wp-amazon, and if so how is that done?

    Thanks much,

    Jamie

    Maybe this will help:

    http://svnbook.red-bean.com/

Once I got the update, I had to upload it twice (ftp problem, I’m certain), activate the plugin again and now it works perfectly.

OK. Just installed the latest release and I ger the “Insert Amazon content” link. But the pop-up displays …
Warning: main(../wp-config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/virtualhosts/dougandkelly.org/live/www/wp-admin/admin.php on line 2Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../wp-config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php') in /home/virtualhosts/dougandkelly.org/live/www/wp-admin/admin.php on line 2

    Ideas?
