   i'm quite the newbie, thought knowing some html,xhtml would make this a breeze but i'm tearing my hair out and crying... literally. reserve your judgement please.

   okay.
   so i got as far as getting wordpress in cpanel. i was able to log into wordpress dashboard. i loaded a theme and activated it. at one point i tried changing site url from http://www...com/wordpress to just http://www...com. when i would try to visit site it said domain under construction.

   aright. so i wanted to see my blog open under my URL. using one of the forums posted here for that problem i went to wp-config and added define('WP_HOME','http://alphadnovo.com');
   define('WP_SITEURL','http://alphadenovo.com');
   at the bottom.
   sweet... NO. Not really.
   alphadenovo.com now has

   Index of /

   cgi-bin/
   design/
   wordpress/

   returning to alphadenovo.com/wordpress the blog is there but NOW (this is just, the most fun i've had on the internet by the way) as i attempt to go into the Dashboard .. an i know you savvy peeps already know what's coming.. its reading a 404 error that /wp-admin/ cannot be found.

   aright, so i went back to cpanel and editted wp-config and removed
   'define('WP_HOME','http://alphadnovo.com');
   define('WP_SITEURL','http://alphadenovo.com');'

   and everything is still not working - also!!
   http://alphadenovo.com//wordpress/wp-login
   when i hit enter it just keep refreshing the page. goodness , what a blast.

   never mind im starting everything over. or i might give up. this is really hard. and this is coming from someone who's hosted a domain on tumblr. why is this so difficult haha. i dont get it

   I'm having the same problem after changing the url. This is pissing me off. How can the tech writers miss writing clear instructions on this?

   Now I can't even log in to my control panel!!!

   HELP!!!

   You will need to reset the urls back to the way it was you cannot change urls without moving wordpress files folders .

   I caled godaddy.com and reset the whole installation. I'll reinstall now.

   i thought that's what it was going to call for eventually. i'm actually going to try Microsoft's WebMatrix. But now i know cant move files without renaming . thank you for response. =] Also i was following set up using WordPress all in one for dummies in case that helps for good feedback.
