   Hi-
   I searched forums here but could not find relevant answer. This might be because I may not be using the right terminology to describe the issue I have.

   I was "attempting" to ftp into my wordpress.org v2.7.1. wp-content area in order to change permissions. I believe the error I'm about to describe occurred just after I right clicked on wp-admin/css folder and changed permissions to 666. But I'm not sure if this is the issue or coincidental. Because right after this I went back to my wp-admin panel to edit the theme's header.php and page.php and my wp-admin layout changed. I have placed a snapshot of the layout page at the bottom of the following post.

   any way to revert back to default WP2.7.1 wp-admin layout style?

   Does anything I'm asking make any sense :)?

   Read this for help with file permissions.
   As for the layout of wp-admin without know what you may have changed it would be extremely difficult for anyone to know what to change to get it back. I myself don't even want to guess as if I am wrong could make things worse.....Hopefully yoyu are keeping backups of your site and would recommend comparing to the backup.
