I have 40+ files named \wp-admin\core.(number) using over 400 MB of file storage on my server. What's the cause, what's the cure, and what are they? They range in size from 14MB to just over 5 MB.
    Thanks in advance!

Let your host know. I doubt they will want to see them, but who knows? Usually you can just delete them. If you don't see any problems with your server they may be the result of bad shutdowns (wrong init level?).

BTW, they are core dumps of a process spawned by a script/something in wp-admin/. Only useful for debugging.

Thanks for the help and insight. Reduced my server storage by over 1 GB by deleting the core dumps. Thanks again!
