[resolved] wp-admin blank after "failed" upgrade to 3.0 (3 posts)

So, I'm having troubles with my wp-admin for my WordPress 2.9.2 version.
When I open it, the site is blank and when I open the source code of the page, there is nothing. It has nothing to do with the plugins, I deactivated them all (by renaming the directory) but that didn't change the problem.

Here's how I caused the problem in the first place:

1.) Wanted to upgrade to 3.0 with the automatic upgrader.
2.) Upgrade failed because of insufficient file permissions (CHMOD).
3.) So (stupid as I am when it comes to these technical things) I changed the CHMOD for the whole directory and all sub-directories and files to 777.
4.) The whole blog didn't work anymore then, so I changed the CHMODs back to what I thought it was before (755 for all directories and files but 777 for the wp-content)
5.) Now blog worked again but wp-admin is blank...oh my!

Any attempt to help me will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Im facing a similar issue too... Here's what happened:
    - I was on WordPress 2.9.2 version and auto-upgraded to ver 3.0
    - The installation did not complete for some reason, it kinda crashed the browser.
    - When I restarted the browser, I was able to login and access the Admin page normally, it didn't ask for an upgrade to 3.0 anymore, so I assumed it was successfully upgraded.
    - Its been about a week and I haven't logged in since, until today, and now the wp-admin page is blank, everything else works fine, I just cant edit the website.
    - I have tried all the steps provided in the following link without success: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/325114?replies=15
    - Also, I renamed the wp-admin folder and uploaded an older version of wp-admin which worked, but it required an upgrade to 3.0, which I performed again only to start the whole process all over again.

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

    Similar story.

Responded to the encouragement to upgrade to 3.0, and thought I'd upgrade the plug ins first.

That seemed to seize up the browser, so I used ctrl-f5 to refresh, and went with upgrading wp.

Same thing happened, and now I am not able to log into my wp-admin page.

    What can I do?
