[resolved] WP 3.0.1 Twentyten functions.php missing "function twentyten_filter_wp_title" (5 posts)

I downloaded a fresh copy of WP v3.0.1 just to make sure, and indeed the function twentyten_filter_wp_title is missing from functions.php.

I do see the function in the WordPress 3.0 Twentyten functions.php.

Is the function really missing from version 3.0.1 or is it me missing something?

Yep, it's definitely gone. You should probably file a bug report. Since it's a core theme, as opposed to a third party theme, follow this guide: http://codex.wordpress.org/Reporting_Bugs

For completeness I wanted to share the short story is that there is a reason that this function is missing from the updated functions.php - the mechanism for displaying the page-title has been integrated into the header.php itself thus rendering the function redundant.

The long story is here for anyone who wants the whole story - http://www.sunnybalanga.com/blog/2010/10/17/does-updating-the-parent-theme-affect-the-child-theme/

(I've also amended the bug report.)
