• I found out where the images are going when I FTPed my site and looked around. However, my users need to be able to use custom fields so they can add the uploaded page to be in their NextGen gallery. I was getting them to copy the image’s URL from the Upload Image window to paste in the cutom field. However, now they’re getting some gibbly glosh that says something like “attachment=?” which isn’t a URL that can be used.

Is there a way to fix this?

  • Sounds like they’re copying the attachment page’s url and not the file url as displayed when viewing individual image in the Media Library.

So they’ll have to upload the image then click on the media gallery to get the URL?

I wish there was an easier or automated way to do this since my users are much older and don’t want to be bothered with taking too many steps.

So they’ll have to upload the image then click on the media gallery to get the URL?

That’s probably the safest option. If they grab the url from the Insert Image page, it’s going to depend which option is selected : Post or File Url – as to whether they pick up the correct image url or the attachment url.

this may help… it helped my issues with images not showing up in posts and pages

    .htaccess

    RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/(.*) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]

I noticed that I had wp-contents instead of wp-includes in my rewriterule
