   Am I going crazy, or did I turn off a switch or something?

   Upon installing WP 2.7 from scratch, I was able to install plugins automatically using the new feature.

   I stepped out for a few hours, and now its GONE!

   Now I have to manually download/unzip/upload.

   What gives?

   Same thing just happened to me. Is this feature gone?
