   Hi,

   I did a fresh install of wp 2.6.2 and to my surprise I found that it does not have an option to display static page as home page in admin >> settings >> Reading settings --- Front Page Displays

   Has anyone seen this ? Its working fine with upgrade but just a fresh install seems to be missing it.

   Yes, when you do not have any Pages created before going there.

   I had exactly the same panic (and paging endlessly round the dashboard looking for the thing) - thank you!
