[resolved] WP 2.2 with ExecPHP and/or Samsarin PHP Widget? (9 posts)

Prior to upgrading to WP 2.2 from 2.1, I was using various King widgets, including a text widget that allowed PHP execution. Those plugins appear to be incompatible with 2.2's built-in widget functionality. That's fine, though, because the King widgets haven't been upgraded in eons, so I didn't mind finding replacements.

To take on the job of handling PHP in widgets, I tried both ExecPHP and Samsarin PHP Widget. Neither worked properly. Whenever I have more than one of these widgets (of the same type) in use at one time, the contents of the first instance of the widget to be evaluated are copied to every other instance. This happens even with empty contents. For instance, if the the first copy of the PHP widget has a title of "First" and the second has a title of "Second", the title of both instances will appear to be "First" when the page loads.

Anybody know what's wrong and how to fix it?

I don't know how to fix it... but I can read the topic titles on the main page here.
    (hint: look for PHP widget)

My bad. I didn't see that topic when I did a search for "php widget"; it doesn't appear on the first 6 or so pages of search results.

Download the zip archive and upload the new widgets.php. This fix worked for me.

Glad to see they have a patch for this :). I put a fix into Samsarin PHP Widget 1.1 to resolve this for WP 2.2 users.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make king text work again. If not, does anyone know how I can retrieve the widgets I had made in there? I had things with code and such that I don't have a backup of for my sidebar and need to at least get that stuff back. Where is it stored? Thanks to anyone who can offer some guidance.
