WordPress 2.0 runs a lot slower and uses a lot more CPU resources than 1.5 in a Windows 2003 Server with IIS. WP 1.5 creates a spike in CPU usage, but WP 2.0 uses 100% of CPU for several seconds each time it has to serve a page.
There is no difference disabling or enabling the caching system. Maybe it's not working, or not working as it should?
Could it be a configuration problem? Shall I change something in IIS, PHP, WP...?
PHP version is 4.4.1

I'd love to hear an answer to this too. I just upgraded my server to the latest version of PHP5 (i'm running the ISAPI version) and i still see post times on the order of 20-30 seconds!

My worppress editiing time is way up
hit save and get a cup of coffee!
try to cut down the number of pinging services you have in your option page.
*in fact i deleted all of them, even ping-o-matic*

Thanks, puppy18, but I had already done that. Still very slow and taking all the resources.

The sad thing is wordpress 2.01 is slow in my case.
I ran 1.5 on same web company powweb. It was faster.
Also the save times out 30% of time not a problem on 1.5.
It really is getting hard to produce. I may have to go to 1.5 again. But probley not as it takes a lot of time.
Dare I say 2.01 may have bloat?
It just acts sluggish. on a 1.5 meg DSL line.
Sorry but something is up?
I just turned off all pings and such I will see if that helps.
What about the cache?
