[resolved] Would like to add a splash page? (4 posts)

I’m curious if there is any way to do this… I have the blog set up and running great now, I was hoping to add a different “index.htm” page that would be a splash page about the blog. Then, clicking on the splash image, the blog loads. By simply adding the index.htm page into to my root directory, it appeared to work fine, however, when I click on any of the "page" links, it takes me back to the index.htm splash page instead of the actual pages contents? Any thoughts on accomplishing this?

    Thanks for any insight!

First, get rid of the index.htm. That'll just make you sad.

Have a look at some of the ideas in this codex article: Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Thanks to both of you for the info.

HandySolo, The Filosofo plug-in works great for I wanted it for.

chaaban, I know what you're saying about splash pages, but in this case, I actually need to explain what they will be looking at prior to them actually getting into the site. I guess I could also look into just having the splash page be within WP and stagnant from that regards too...

    Thanks for the help.
