    Very simple plugin that does exactly what it says. Good way to cut down on brute force attacks and other hacking from countries that don’t need to be visiting your site in the first place.

    Hi b-cat,

    It works great. What countries do you mean are typical “brute force attack countries”? I have absolutely no experience about that.

    Hi Jens Ehrs,

    Every site is different. A site may be targeted because of it’s specific content. A site may be targeted for a weakness that can be exploited. Everyone’s experience is unique. For that reason I create “blocking rules” based on activity in my server logs. As a rule, I don’t block an entire country unless my server logs indicate more “bad hits” than good from that country.

    I came across this article this morning. It’s three years old but still contains some relevant information.
