    I'm working on an unknown theme, I'm assuming it's custom. It seems several years old. Looks good on the front side, but the stylesheet is not something I'm used to. I'm simply trying to change the content width of the page and narrow the "sidebar" to 0.

    I used firebug to make the changes, but the fields to edit aren't in the style.css and I have no idea how to make the changes. I've even tried the firefox css plugin to save firebug changes and that doesn't help.

    Here's the site:
    http://www.bustedknucklefilms.com

    No clue what the theme is.
    This is the html that I'm trying to edit... any idea how to make the changes in stylesheet?

    <div id="builder-module-4b7369aabf83d" class="builder-module builder-module-content builder-module-2 builder-module-content-1 builder-module-content-last builder-module-before-footer builder-module-after-html clearfix">
    <div class="builder-module-block-outer-wrapper left clearfix" style="width:610px; overflow:hidden; padding:0; margin:0">
    <div class="builder-module-block-outer-wrapper right clearfix" style="width:350px; overflow:hidden; padding:0; margin:0;">

    the stylesheet shows this:

    /*********************************************
    	Container Div
    *********************************************/
    .builder-container-outer-wrapper {
    	background: transparent;
    	margin: 0em auto;
    	border: 0em solid #000;
    	display: block;
    }

    Any ideas?

    You could use a Custom Style or Custom CSS plugin to keep separate your modifications of styles from the theme stylesheet, style.css.
    Here's one relating plugin
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-css-manager-plugin/

    You then enter your CSS in the allocated area of that plugin.

    you will need to edit the templates (and/or post contents ?), as there are a lot of inline styles in the code;

    also check the validation:
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bustedknucklefilms.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

    the width:610px in here seems to be part of the restriction:

    <div class="builder-module-block-outer-wrapper left clearfix" style="width:610px; overflow:hidden; padding:0; margin:0">

    but there will be more;

    all-in-all not a WordPress problem ;-)
