Hi, ive been told by some *!&* that they have been able to access the audio on my wordtube widget and download it. Now I cant see how this is possible. Sure they can use something like audacity to record onto their computer. But actually access the files? I cant see of a way to do this. Even if you go to the path of the file its just another player. Has anyone any other ideas or should I just ignore this comment?

It wouldn't be uncommon. There are lots of browser extensions that can easily identify and download media directly from a web page with just a couple of clicks.

yes. it appears if you go to the url of the file then you can right click and save as. even if you have a wordpress protect plugin installed to disable right click it doesnt work on this part of the site.

    Disabling right click never works.

well it works just not when you got to that oath of the file. obviously you can still use firebugs in firefox to inspect the element. how can it be disabled? i like wordtube i dont want to start using another plugin just to stop people stealing music of my site

I personally think disabling right click is a frustrating exercise in futility. It only amounts to a speed bump, not a roadblock. In most cases, the source code is available in any browser, to anyone who cares to look at it. You don't need firebug or any other developer tools to view it. You can view source code from any browser with no special tools. The plugin isn't really the issue. This is simply the way web accessible files work.

Even in the event that you successfully obscure the path to your media files in the source code, (which some players can do) there are dozens of browser extensions that simply identify the type of media on the page, and then download it directly from your site, or recover it from the end users browser cache.

I agree with you there. But at the end of the day I cant afford the risk of having the audio as open as that. The more robust it is to get the songs the better. Looks like im going down the soundcloud route now!
