WordPress.com to WordPress.org (own host) (4 posts)

Here is the situation. I currently have a hosting service that can support my own wordpress blog, however, initially when I started blogging, I figured I'd just use wordpress.com and not have to worry about maintenance, etc.

However, now I'm finding out neat plug-ins that I can incorporate into wordpress, however, due to the fact that I'm using wordpress.com (and not hosting my own), I can't do custom plug-ins.

The question is, if I were to get my own WordPress blog (own hosting) up and running:

    1. Is there a way to take all the posts that I had (wordpress.com) and put it up on my own server or vice versa?

Go to your admin panel on your WordPress.com blog and Manage->Export. Then you can import it into your new blog.
