    Hi there,
I'm completely new to website building. This is what I'm facing at the moment.

I went to wordpress.com two days ago and decided to start a new website/blog. I started building the site through wordpress.com and chose the "upgrade" option to have my own ".com" domain name. My new .com domain registered through wordpress.com just fine! Great!
Over the last few days I realized that "wordpress.com" isn't allowing me to have full control of the look of my website/blog that I'd prefer. It was then that I realized there is a wordpress.org that would give me the control I'd like.
The problem is, is that my domain is registered through wordpress.com and not through a separate host (like hostgator, or dreamhost). I can't cancel with wordpress.com or transfer the domain for 60 days.
I need to get a website up and running soon preferably with the domain I originally created through wordpress.com
what should I do to get on to wordpress.org and have the domain I bought through wordpress.com point to the new wordpress.org site? Keep in mind, I have no host! Help!

You seem to have sorted this out a little...

Do you need more help getting set up with DreamHost?

You don't have to transfer the domain, you can just change the NameServers to point to DreamHost. Transfering means moving the DNS records somewhere else, and is separate from changing where your domain name points to :)
