I set up my blog on a web host. Lets call it Host1. It worked fine but was really slow so I decided to get a new host and move the blog there (Host2). I downloaded my WordPress install from the Host1's FTP and then uploaded it to Host2.

I set up a mysql database on Host2 and revised the config file accordingly, uploading it to Host2's FTP.

When I tried to go to the admin area of the blog on Host2, it asked me to create a new blog. (I.E. enter a blog name and an email address). I did. Now when I go to the blog, it's just a starter page.

Fortunately, I've exported a back-up of the blog but when I go to log-in to the admin with the new info that WordPress emailed me, I receive the following error: "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page."

I've gone through the forums and tried a couple remedies (cleared cache, revised wp-login.php, changed directory permissions to 755) but I'm still having the permissions issue.

Any ideas on how to get this blog up and running? I can't even get into the admin panel at this point to import the blog.

Might make sure you do have all WordPress file uploaded to your new host (HOST2).

Of course, since the HOST2 site is a new install of WordPress, you could DROP the tables in phpMyAdmin and do the wp-admin/install.php thing again. But that would assume you have the WordPress files all uploaded correctly to HOST2.

Uploading WordPress to a remote host (make sure using ASCII file transfer mode with FTP client)

Looks like this did the trick. Thank you very much!
