I just tried doing the import again through safari but I get errors saying this media already exists, since I’ve already imported everything 2 days ago. I know the media & my categories & tags are there, but none of my posts are showing up still. GAH it’s been over 2 days!!
I have never tried what you are doing, but I do know content and database are not the same and that your database is not in wp-content.

I imported all of my wordpress.com posts, categories, tags, comments, etc.. in this way before and it took less than a day to do. So I know the process works, I’ve done it before and it’s in all the “how to” articles on transferring wordpress.com blogs to wordpress.org so I know I’m doing it correctly, I just am confused now at why it’s taking over 48 hours. I dont think it’s supposed to take that long so I just wanted to check to see if anyone could help.

Just guessing, I am suggesting you will have to find a way to copy your database separately since you already have your content that is now blocking a re-try of everything. I have heard wordpress.com has some kind of “assisted transfer” service (or whatever it might be called), and maybe that will help you get things completed.
Hmm, not sure how to copy the database any other way. WordPress does have a transfer assistance but it costs like $150, and when I already managed to do the process once easily myself I definitely don’t want to pay for it this time! 🙂
are there any wordpress.org support staff around who can help? it’s frustrating that there’s no support contact for them directly.

Does anyone know if I can stop a current WordPress import and start it over? It’s not been 3 days… Tried my host they said its a problem on wordpress.org’s end. Soooo any WordPress people out there that can help me with this…? Please?!
