• I’m attempting to move my hosting from 1&1 to nearlyfreespeech. I’ve got wordpress installed on my new host (both old and new running 2.1), and am now attempting to transfer. I can download the WXR file succesfully, and even import it to the new one seemingly successfully, but once its done, I get the following error:

The uploaded file could not be moved to /nfsn/content/noliberalbull/public/wp-content.
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /nfsn/content/noliberalbull/public/wp-admin/admin-header.php:16) in /nfsn/content/noliberalbull/public/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1219

I’m really at a loss from where to go from here. I have no idea if this is a wordpress problem or a server problem or what. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Try and chmod the wp-content dir to 777.

though, the more official and more secure solution is, I think, to change the owner of the dir to web, I believe. best of luck.
