I seel many posts of other poeple dealing with the details, but I need a general direction...
I am using dreamweaver MX to create a website. I am very pleased with the results, and I like the fact that I barely need to mess with the code. I want to use dreamweaver with wordpress, so I could actually see what I am doing and where I am placing different parts.
the problem is, of course, that when I load index.php into dreamweaver, I get a bunch of icons and broken images... how do I "tell" dreamweaver to read the php file, so I can actually see the different objects? Only when this happans I can place them in a table and play around with the design... any general toturials about how to start working with both programs? I want to mess with the least amount of code possible.

Alright, I was looking around. The problem is that this program pretty much starts everything from start, it seems, and you have to know what you're doing. not to mention that if you want to actually use this, you have to pay $300 for. I get dreamweaver for free thanks to my school lab... I don't have extra $300. Any more ideas?

The link I posted had a free trial you could try.
Using software you have to pay for (even if you get it free) means there will come a day when you have to pay to continue using it efficiently :)
    Good luck.
