Concerning the link you put down podz, one part of the table says:
Max. Weblogs for WordPress = 1
Multiple Sites for WordPress = No
Is this is a mistake? or….?
No, that looks correct. 1 install of WP = 1 site, whereas 1 install of MT (for instance) = several sites (if you have the correct licence!!)
But seeing as it takes moments to install WP, it’s not a hassle is it ? 🙂

I’ll throw my 2 cents in if you don’t mind.
Aside from the php vs. perl thing, from the perspective of someone just wanting to “design” … i’d say they are both pretty flexible.
I am more likely to “hack” wordpress than I am MT however, cause php comes easier to me.
MT seems a bit more “professional”, for lack of a better word …
Occationally wordpress has little “surprises” and quirks.
Ultimately, I think wordpress is more “hackable” and “tweakable” if you are a little familiar with php.
I know a little perl too, but MT doesn’t seem as amenable to “quick and dirty” hacks.
As an example, I regularly “grep” for functions in the wp-includes directory and just hack the sucker in vi if I don’t like the way it works. Anyhow, that probably doesn’t mean anything to you.
But … the metatag feature in wordpress allows an enourmous amount of flexibility with only meager coding skills.
