WordPress vs Joomla vs complexity of security (2 posts)

I'm a freelance designer who's been sadly lacking in a strong CMS (been using Cutenews for years).
I've recently dug in to Joomla, created templates, got it working well, but as I dig in I'm finding that for optimal security there are some potentially complicated workarounds like moving your configuration file out of the public_html and dealing with php_ini (which becomes even more complicated in a Plesk framework).

Other than the obvious sorts of things like strong passwords and keeping your version up to date, what would be the general feeling of security within WordPress? Are there similar complicated workarounds?

I seem to find more WordPress-based sites than Joomla at the moment and both offer great plugins, extensions and support communities.

Any feedback would be great, thanks!
