I'm using plesk. When I upload a picture with wordpress it saves it as 777 as user apache. In Plesk I can not change the permissions. I also have to leave the upload folder 777 or I get an error.

How do I get wordpress to upload as a different user without making it writable for the whole world.

    I have wordpress 2.8.4 and plesk 9.2.2

    Kyle,

    Hi,

Contact your hosting service provider and ask to set 766 permissions in your blog. It should be file ownership level issue. Hence, you are not able to edit the permissions.

    Thanks,

What I want it to do is upload the images using a user besides apache.
