   Hi,

   Something went wrong with the auto-update, my admin stopped working...I only could delete the whole installation and re-install. Problem know: my whole images folder (since March 20023!) is gone. I have the images in backup (give or take a few) but the code for them in the HTML seems to be missing.
   Can anybody help me out here?
   I would really appreciate it!

   It seems that you did a manual back up and overwritten the wp-content directory. You need to exclude this directory from upload while doing a manual upgrade..
