    Hi,

Today I started upgrading my WP blog to 2.7. But unfortunately it did not went well and now I am not at all seeing my blog page or my WP login page. It is showing the error messages:

Warning: require(/home7/bizknowl/public_html/wp-includes/compat.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home7/bizknowl/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 238

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home7/bizknowl/public_html/wp-includes/compat.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home7/bizknowl/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 238

I am following the steps given at:http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended#Step_2:_Backup_ALL_your_WordPress_files

I have done upto Step 8 but to do the step 9, there is no blog page and it is throwing this error when I tried to login to my wp-admin page.

It is listed in the upgrade steps that I have to delete the wp-contents folder but the file that is displaying in the error message, compat.php is present in wp-contents folder. I have it in my backup. But do not know why it is asking this file, if it is deleted.

    Please help !!

    Regards,
    Praveen

    compat.php is in wp-includes not wp-content

Try uploading your files again, as it appears that at least one was not uploaded correctly, and it might not be the only one.

    Thanks Filosofo.

I have uploaded again and it solved the problem. Now my blog is up and running. But there is a problem.

I cannot access my WP admin login page. When I access http://www.Myblog.com/wp-admin, it is throwing a 404 error.

Do you have any idea, what this means?

    /Praveen
