    Hi everyone,

I decided to update my wordpress last night and wished I had never done it as now I can't seem to log in either through my blog or using the wp-admin extension at the end of my URL.

It looks like I will have to re-install everything but I was wondering under which foldersand pages would my posts that I had written will be kept? also I'm using mingle and would like to recover the email addresses of my subscribers and also would like to know where I can retrieve that data from on the server?

If anyone can help I'd be over the moon if this can be fixed without starting all over again, as you can imagine! cheers in advance and hear from you all soon.

    Try:
    - switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

I was wondering under which foldersand pages would my posts that I had written will be kept

They are stored in your database. You did make a database backup before upgrading, didn't you?

Before you do any of this Bacup your WordPress files and Database
If you have access to your database, you can get a clone of the table the posts and pages and the table that your mingle stuff is on. then just re-install wordpress and the mingle plugin and re-apply the posts to your new wordpress install and re-apply the mingle table.

I've just had the same thing happen to me. I downloaded the latest files from the wordpress homepage and the FTP'd the files up overwriting the existing ones. This did the trick for me.
