I’m still having these same issues.
It’s perhaps the best plugin for comments I am looking for, and it’s not working!?
Unfortunately now, after an update I’d’ve thought it would operate properly but unfortunately this is still not the case.
The Twitter hovercards work fine but it’s the connectivity of the plugin to the accounts that’s the main worry.
Beta 2 of Social 2.0 is available for testing, we’d love to know if it fixes the issues you were seeing in the 1.x version:

How do,
Any thoughts on how to ensure the plugin works properly?
For some reason I’m getting the ‘Update Settings’ with a red background constantly showing and it doesn’t appear to be connecting properly to either FB or Twitter like the images show it is supposed to.
I’ve followed everything to the letter I believe but I can’t see how it’s being obstructed by another plugin at all.
Puzzled!?
