    Are there any ways i could deactivate my posts from being seen on my home page? i just want my home page to be a static page, i dont want a page wherein anyone could view my posts, i'm planning to do a website that doesnt look like a blog. All my menu items will be just linked to my actual posts. I'm also planning to hide the date the post was created, the author, and other stuffs. Do you have any good source wherein i could learn on how to do this using wordpress? thanks

    That you will need to edit your theme's index.php file: remove all the codes (HTML & PHP) that use to display your posts. For example, the classic theme will be something like this:

    <?php get_header(); ?>

    <blink>MY STATIC CONTENT RIGHT HERE</blink>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    It seems WordPress 2.5 (latest) has the following feature: you can ask a page (for instance the “About” page that's created automatically with a fresh install) to be displayed as the home page.

    But for finer details, like not displaying post author, date, etc., you will need to edit you theme.

    Note that there might be existing minimalistic WordPress themes that do this.

    I highly recommend buying a copy of WordPress for Dummies! The author does a brilliant job of walking you through all kinds of wordpress customization in language that is not geek speak - and shows you how to build websites using it in many configurations.

    Settings/Options >> Reading
    There you'll have the option of displaying a static page. (:
