Hi,
Site: Organic Shadows @ http://www.os42.com
We have had a few emails from visitors to our site asking if they can have the style and graphics. For one thing we thought it was very polite that they asked for permission - but even more amazing - we are very surprised they even want them. They are certainly not everyone's first choice.
However, it occurred to us that maybe we should bundle them up and make it easy for others to make a start with - and they can always change what they wish once they become more familiar with it all.
We have corresponded with Alex K ,who has kindly put a few of our designs on his WordPress Styles page, and he is ok with the suggestion that we make an area on our site to hold more designs from anyone who wants to add them to a list.
So, if you feel like sharing and want to show off your wares, please send them to us in a zipped bundle via email and we will put them in a showcase and acknowledge you accordingly.
It all helps to promote WP we think but if you are not interested or feel you have a better suggestion, please let us know. :) :)
Who knows - if we have enough responses - we might even start a new competition :)
@ shadow : just to clarify - these styles need to run off the default template or no?

I don't really mind. I guess it would be easier but it will depend on how many people want to actually submit their designs. Initially, perhaps it is best if people take a screenshot and throw it in their bundle but if we get a few rolling in we might set up a second blog for the sole purpose of showing these styles.
Hope this answers your question :)

Showcasing all the styles on a blog page would necessitate using the same base XHTML for each style, no? Assuming you were using Alex's style switcher. It would therefore make sense for that base XHTML either to be the default index.php, or some other template, perhaps with three columns, available for download from your site.

My thinking is exactly the same as yours - and I am open to using the default index.php in addition to another template. I would need to install WP in several subdomains but I don't see this as a problem.
At this stage though, no one seems interested in the idea so all of this may be irrelevant. Will have to wait and see if there is enough people to warrant it before I go any further.
If anyone is keen to show their designs let me know but if not - no problem - I have enough plugins and additions to the site to keep me busy for a while :)
