WordPress site showing strange page

    What page? You’re going to need to provide more details about the problem.

    Both links go to http://www.internetcashmint.com/wp-admin/install.php

    The reason why that page is showing is because you just uploaded the files and nothing more. After uploading files, you need to install WordPress.

    Something must have gone wrong. I did not just upload the WordPress installation, as I have installed WordPress on the domain for about 3 years now.

    The last thing I did yesterday, before I saw this install.php page was to click on the UPDATE link for a contact form plugin (Fast Secure Contact Form) in my admin dashboard and what I saw thereafter was that page – that was why I was surprised.

    Does this mean my initial WP installation has been erased? Someone please help.

    NOTE: From what I can see from my cpanel just some few minutes ago, the previous WP installation seem to be intact with all the themes and plugins in place.

    Please how do I restore my previous installation as I don’t have any backup ( I just resumed updating the site just this month).

    Your help is appreciated.

    @ esmi, Nope…I have not checked the database. I will do that now, but what should I really look out for in the database?

    This is strange….everything is just suddenly okay now.

    I did not do anything to it, just checked my email and saw notifications of comments for posts on my blog and decided to check the site again and then everything is fine.

    The question now is what could have gone wrong in the first instance? Could it be a problem from my host?

    Please guys I need to know in order to forestall future occurrences.

    What I think could be that part of your server went down or something wrong with the database.

    Has to be your database.

    Go back up your whole site right now, depending on how busy your site gets. Some of my sites are on a monthly back up.
