    Hi
My WordPress site has been hacked by some kind of virus that is pitching Cialis and other drugs. Oddly the text only shows up on mobile devices when switching between tabs or screens. I see it mainly when viewing the site from a smart phone.

Can anyone help me with a set of step by step instructions on how to remove this virus from my site?

    My web site is: http://www.paralinestudio.com

    Many thanks!

If you are using WP Super Cache plugin, remove the plugin and its related data completely, because that plugin is developed by hackers.

@ubaidullahbutt - that's simply not true. There was a security issue with SuperCache, but it was quickly fixed by the developers -

    http://blog.sucuri.net/2013/04/update-wp-super-cache-and-w3tc-immediately-remote-code-execution-vulnerability-disclosed.html

Note, in particular, the last line of the article above:

Kudos to the plugin developers for acting quickly on the issue. Now it’s your turn end-users, update!

Bottom line - keep WP, themes and plugins up-to-date.

Hey, thanks for the resources. I wish I knew about them when my blog got hacked; I ended up having to coordinate with my web host and rebuild my blog to fix the problem. I'll bookmark them just in case that happens again.

@WPyogi I posted the bad comment because the plugin have inject unknown code on my two sites. One is my personal site, and second one is my client's website.

  7. Yes and you were wrong to do so. Posting that comment I mean.

because that plugin is developed by hackers.

Sorry but that's just plain false and WPyogi was right to call you out on it. The WP Super Cache plugin is developed and supported by one of the most respected WordPress developers around.

There was a security issue with it and another caching plugin but that's been responsibly resolved.

Jan I have read the article, but really I still don't know for removing the issue with Super cache.

When I'm enabling super cache then there are unexpected links on the pagination. Check here http://www.thetop100songs.com/ on the pagination.

Pagination is working fine after removing the cache and disabling the plugin.

  9. If you are having problems with WP Super Cache then you may want to instead post to the WP Super Cache support sub-forum.

    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-super-cache#postform

If you do post there please include the steps you've taken to reproduce the problem i.e. "I turned on the cache plugin and pagination stopped working. I turned it off and pagination began to work again."

    Something like that. ;)
