Hello,
I woke up this morning to see my site stuck on the "Installation screen". After a quick google search I came across this wonderful post that I was able to get my site back online quickly.
I am writing to see if anyone else had had a similar experience, or if there are ways to combat this in the future. "If" this was a genuine hack, it would almost seem like a random bot hack... I did have 5 "hello world" posts, but no new users created one I repaired my options table.
Thoughts?
its a huge leap to go from a crashed table to being hacked. the post you linked to is unsubstantiated fear mongering.

Hi Whooami - I am glad to hear that, but that is also why I posed the question and the quoted "IF" this was a hack.... Or if this is just something that happens from time to time in wordpress.
It was more of me inquiring what may cause this or if there was reason for alarm.

it does happen, and it happens on some hosts more than others -- yahoo small business, for example, in my experience, seems to have issues with this.
I, admittedly, cant explain the root cause, and there *could* be something nefarious behind it. I just wouldnt make the link without more evidence.

Okay thank you for the advice... I am using http://www.mosso.com as the host and I will keep an eye on things. To all that read this, the link please see it as just a "possible" solution to repair your options table.
