WordPress site and database transfer mix up... please help (4 posts)

I have been trying to transfer a site from alexbiggs.ca/dogsville to dogsville.ca by following this page - http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress .

I have uploaded the original wp files, imported the old database to a newly created database, and changed wp-config to reflect the new database info.

Currently, http://dogsville.ca looks the way it should. However, clicking any menu option brings you back to the old address, like alexbiggs.ca/dogsville/about .

I have logged in to alexbiggs.ca/dogsville/wp-admin to try to change the "WordPress address" and "Site address" to dogsville.ca, under Settings, General. After saving, I log back in and the changes haven't been made.

trying to log in to dogsville.ca/wp-admin redirects me to http://alexbiggs.ca/dogsville/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dogsville.ca%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to do a find-replace for urls in the database, but first study up here:

    thank you.

I checked out that article and installed the WP Migrate DB plugin. Imported the new database, and now most of the links seem good and I can login as admin.

Pages don't appear to have made it through yet however... I am trying to find where i went wrong
