  • google 🙂

I guess this truly is “a date which will live in infamy”.

There is my wpgarden.com trying to showcase some websites, powered by wordpress.

and undoIT, If you are the owner of the site themebot.com, I have a question for you.

My themes were shared in that site and I was not asked before.
    Thanks
    Sadish

I was thinking it would be cool to have a section on WordPress.org where people can list their site and get feedback from other members. I guess this could be classified as a feature request.

Hi Sadish. I have added the following disclaimer to the website.

“All of the themes/templates/styles/skins that are hosted on ThemeBot.com are free to download. However, if you decide to download any of them, please be sure to read the copyright information that the author has included with the file and respect any licensing restrictions. Also, if you like one of the free themes you have downloaded, please visit the author’s website to see what else they have to offer.”

ThemeBot.com is a work in progress and is intended to be a useful service that supports open source platforms. If there are any other suggestions, please let me know.

    Regards, Sean

I think youre missing her *real* suggestion : youve made her themes available on your site without her permission.

As its her work, it would seem to me that she has the right to 1. be asked and 2. decide where if anywhere, her work is to be “showcased”.

What you have in any disclaimer doesnt mitigate that.

Hi whooami. I spoke with Sadish personally about this through email and I am removing the links for direct download from the download repository per his request. ThemeBot is a service to help people find themes and theme designers reach a wider audience. It also allows people to compare what is available in terms of layout options with different platforms. Sadish asked that I keep the themes in the gallery but provide a link to his website, which I’m working on right now.

Anybody who has designed a theme is welcome to add their own information about any theme they have created and provide a link back to their homepage. I have no intention of overstepping any copyright restrictions. I feel that ThemeBot is actually a service that is helpful for professional theme designers to gain exposure. All of the themes that are listed on ThemeBot are free downloads that can be downloaded elsewhere on the web. ThemeBot is merely a repository that makes it easier to find themes, like the wordpress themeviewer.

I am not taking credit for any of the themes that I did not design, and encourage designers to submit their own themes with links to their homepage. Also, I could not find any information about licensing restrictions on WordPress.org for any of the themes that are listed on the themeviewer. Thus, it is the responsibility of the user who has downloaded the file to observe the copyright notice included with the theme.

erps, sadish is a guy, apologies. I feel really retarded.

Patricia used to do themes with him, maybe that’s why you’re confused….
