• I’m using a fresh WordPress install hosted at Fatcow, using WordPress v3.0.2 I loaded and activated the “Suffusion” theme, then attempted to set some settings in the “General” and “Privacy” headings. There are no widgets activated in Suffusion, and no plugins activated.

After making settings in either of those two sections and saving them, I go to the other section to make more settings, and save those. Then if I check the section in which I first set settings, it by this time will have reverted to the default settings, and if I then look at the second section I made settings in, those also will have reverted to default.

    Help!

    try:

-switching to the default theme (“twentyten”) for a moment by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue?

I just tried another fresh WordPress install and did the setting changes first — that is, with the default themes, default everything.

The settings still revert to default after any changes as described above.

Have installed any plugins? If yes, try:

-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem . If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit.

No plugins are installed. This is a fresh install of WordPress…I went straight to settings upon logging in for the first time and experienced this settings-reversion problem again.

-If the above steps do not resolve the issue, Download WordPress again and replace your copies of everything EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies. This should replace your core files without changing your content and settings in wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory.
Note that some uploaders may not overwrite files reliably, so delete the original files before replacing them.

-if that does not resolve the issue, try increasing memory available for php.
