WordPress SEO by Yoast sitemap disabled but still being indexed. (5 posts)

    I have the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin installed but since I am using Google XML Sitemaps I have disabled the sitemap function in the Yoast SEO plugin. BUT the Yoast sitemap is still showing up in Bing Webmaster Tools (I never submitted it) and the links to the sitemaps work in my browser but I don't actually see the files on the server. What's going on?

    In my own experience, I once had to have a Developer do a little cleaning up in my database (and remove a cron, I think) after I had deactivated and removing the plugin.

    That seems odd that a plugin would leave items behind after deactivation.
