WordPress Rookie – Advice on installation/maintenance
-
Hi all,
I’m just tech savvy enough to know WordPress (.org, not .com) is where I’d like to relocate my existing website, but nowhere near savvy enough to do it myself. We’ve got a simple site of about ten pages and are looking to add a few more, including a portfolio and a blog. All the research I’ve done points to WordPress being the perfect fit. Problem is I 1) have zero programming skills, 2) hope to avoid paying for a big install project and ongoing maintenance. I run a communications firm and need three people of similar skill to easily add blog posts. My questions are:
1) My existing site is built in iWeb; how difficult is it going to be a for someone to rebuild the site for me?
2) If I move forward with the migration, will my colleagues and I be able to post blogs without knowing our way around HTML (beyond the very, very basics: bold, line breaks, etc.). We’re looking to launch a daily blog and need to be able to do it ourselves.I know WordPress.com is the de facto solution for folks like me, but for all the obvious reasons, I’d like to avoid going that route. What are my options?
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
