WordPress – Problem with oversized images!

Hi Everyone!

I have noticed just this morning that I appear to be having problems with images resizing themselves in IE and Firefox. My theme works perfectly in Chrome (Well,I think it does ha), but when you click on a post and view post content in the other browsers the images are over stretched and too large.

May be worth mentioning that this does not over stretch on the front page!

The Theme framework is Genesis, So guys any help would be very much appreciated and help me come up with a fix for this.

Hi Rachel,

At first glance, I’m willing to bet there is a bug in your Pinterest plugin. It adds extra html and the styles may not be cascading properly. If you temporarily turn off that plugin, does it work then?

What is the name of the Genesis child theme?

Found it!

There is a css line that for some reason makes it behave this way.
```
.pibfi_pinterest {
  position: relative;
  display: inline-block;
}
```
If you turn off display: inline-block; the sizing is correct, but then the ‘Pin it!’ image icon is off. I’ll play with it a bit more to see if I can find a solution.

Yeah, if you just take a plugin like:

http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

and add the line:
```
.pibfi_pinterest {
  display: block !important;
}
```
it should work just fine. Tested on Chrome and Firefox for Mac. This may cause another bug, but so far it looks good to me. Let me know how it works out!

It seems this is a known bug, as display: block; will force each image to it’s own line. But for your purposes I think it should work just fine.

My real advice is to not use the plugin unless it is mission critical. See if you can get some numbers on people using it. A lot of times these features seem nice but only gunk up the works without offering any real functionality. It’s hard to say for certain without actual numbers, but expert consensus is that users will take the time to share or pin if they want to, even if not on the page.

Thank you for your help! Casey. This has fixed the problem 100%. My site now displays the images perfectly. I have left the Pinterest button on at the moment, but I may remove soon as per your advice.

I downloaded the simple custom css plug-in you recommended and placed in the code you gave me and it worked.

Again,thank you so much for your help and the time you have spent looking at this for me.
