I have a blog on Blogger (and a backup of that blog on WordPress.) In the past 48 hours, two “powered by WordPress” blogs (crappy “make money now!” blogs) have co-opted entries from my blog, reposting them without my permission. My blog is covered by a Creative Commons license. I resent the theft of my original writing, and I want to bring this to the attention of WordPress, since their services are being used to help these weasels engage in thievery. I make my living as a writer, so I find this theft of intellectual property especially angering.

If anyone can direct me to someone at WordPress who can help me, that would be fantastic.

WordPress doesn’t provide any services (except for WordPress.com) WordPress is FREE and OPEN SOURCE software that anyone can use on their own server. You’ll have to take it up with those that are doing the stealing.

A couple of other things you could try:
    1. Do a domain search and try reporting the offenders to their respective hosts.
    2. Most of these splogs use Google AdSense – try reporting them to Google.

That last suggestion has worked for me on three occasions. All three splogs that ripped my content had their AdSense accounts closed within days.
